The singer Félix Cumbé has passed away, according to producer Alberto Bernabé (Bebeto). It is noteworthy that in May 2024 the artist suffered a stroke that significantly affected his health. Félix Cumbé underwent a catheterization, however, it was two cardiac arrests that led him to be hospitalized in a hospital in Santo Domingo, where he ultimately lost his life.
Hours before the interpreter's passing, his daughter Katty Cumbé turned to social media to ask for prayers on behalf of her father: "Emergency prayer chain for my father, please, I beg you, don't leave me alone." The artist was admitted to Cedimat due to health complications and, after undergoing a medical procedure, suffered several cardiac arrests that caused his death.
Félix Cumbé was born in Haiti in 1961 under the name Critz Sterlin and emigrated to the Dominican Republic in 1974 when he was 13 years old. Since his youth, he showed his love and talent for music, especially for bachata and merengue. He began his musical career with notable songs such as 'Déjame volver', 'El muñequito', 'La melliza', 'Filete', and 'Fui fuá'.
The singer's death occurred shortly after his daughter turned to social media to ask for prayers for the interpreter's health. Félix Cumbé passed away on February 11 at the age of 64, after a battle with his delicate health that lasted several days. He leaves behind a family composed of his wife Fanny and his two children Katty and Jehovi. Today we remember Félix Cumbé, a man with a great legacy in Dominican music, whose sensitive departure has shocked bachata followers.
